史雲梅耶 Jan Svankmajer
捷克人(Czech Republic)
1934年9月4日生於布拉格。
大學就讀布拉格表演藝術學院，主修木偶劇，導演及舞台設計。
1964年作了第一部動畫「The Last Trick」。在學生時代就對超現實主義感到興趣的他，於70年加入捷克的超現實主義組織，且結識了他的畫家妻子Eva Svankmajerova。曾加入Jiri Tmka工作室，不過還是致力於個人創作，數十年來維持創作的產量與作品一貫的風格，因此作品中的批判、荒謬而與同樣出身布拉格的文學巨擘卡夫卡相提並論。

Jan擅長運用stop-motion的技巧製作動畫，很有特色的是他在雕塑人像人體時的技巧把黏土等素材表演得具有靈魂，觀賞時常會有超越現實的真實感在裡面，與他創作的奇異空間產生衝突。
